I have been married to my wife Vickie for 41 years but we go all the way back to grade school so she has been in my life for a very long time. We joined Mechanicsburg Christian Church being baptized together on December 15th 1993. Was raised on the East Side of Indianapolis until I graduated from John Marshall High School. Following that I served four years in the United States Air Force and two years in the Indiana Air Guard.

When I return we moved to Whitestown then to Lebanon where we have lived at the same address for 35 years and have just recently moved in with my mother Margaret to care for her. We have two grown sons, Michael James age 40 who lives in Lebanon and is married to Karen with two sons Izak age 16 and Riley age 6 and is a supervisor at Hachett Book Group, and Christopher L. age 35 who lives in Sacramento California is single and is a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. We do have two pets a 3 year old Yorkie named Zacchaeus you can guess why because he is a little man. We call him Zacch for short.

We also have a gray Cockatiel named Buddy we don’t know how old he is because he was given to us and came out of an abusive home so he can be irritable at times. Though I am not very good at it I took up golf late in life and enjoy it for the beauty of the outdoors and the biblical principles it allows me to practice. Also enjoy kayaking if the water is not too rough and do some walking and biking. I find reading the Bible daily my most enjoyable but do also enjoy reading a lot of books especially Tolkein, CS Lewis, Oswald Chambers and Dietrich Bonhoffer. As far as tv shows or movies go my favorites are in the Western type like Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford and Open Range with Robert Duval and Kevin Costner. I am interested in sports only a little bit and am neutral on the IU vs Purdue rivalry. Other areas of service include Central Indiana Men Fellowship, Men’s Bible Study, Care Ministry and Love INC.

I have many favorite Bible verses but the one I have around all the time as a reminder is Leviticus 11:44. Be Holy for I am Holy. It is a very short passage but tells me exactly who God is and what His expectations are of me. It is also very easy to remember. I struggled with God until age 38 came to Christ when my grandfather died. I remember when I first came to Christ the mountain high feeling that it brought to me but have and I am still excited to see that in new Christians but have come to realize that this Christian walk is a Marathon and not a Sprint. With that said my desire would be for this church to stay doctrinally sound with those who come Mechanicsburg Christian Church to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and become disciples wanting to know Christ more and to serve Him and His Church.
